The head of the prison, Byron F. Garcia, started a program of choreographed exercise routines for the inmates. At first, he just wanted to introduce a program for the inmates to have an hour of exercise a day. He claimed that his inspiration came from the movie The Shawshank Redemption, a popular prison drama released in 1994. [Source: Wikipedia on CPDRC]
